Hair Dyes
Hair is something that has always spellbounded and captivated people. Hair dye is applied to color your hair. It contributes highly to a persons looks and a change in color or style can fanatically alter the appearance of a person. Picking the right hair color or hair dye coloring the primary considerations are effect on the hair and duration of the resulting change.
In semi-permanent hair coloring techniques (sometimes called glazes, washes, or stains) there are dyes which include ingredients that are extracted only from vegetables. The color resulting from the ingression of the dye sits on the surface of the hair and washes out after approximately eight shampoos. There are also tendentious chemical hair dye colors that contain approximately three percent peroxide.
These procedures can be used to darken the hair only and they will temporarily cover graying areas. Metallic hair dyes, that have lead compounds, can provide startling colors a vivid red, a violent purple, a sober green or a dashing violet. The benefit is that these colors wash of easily as they are deposited only on the surface of the hair fiber.
Permanent hair color dyes are harsh and hard on the hair. In this method the color is blended with hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide lifts the initial color and allows for the new hue to move through the cuticle of the hair and into the cortex. These methods can both lighten and darken the hair and is the method selected when dying hair blonde. In highlighting, small strands of hair in spots strategic to the hair style are dyed one or two shades lighter than the normal hair.
Natural colors have been used on hair from ancient times. Henna is by far the best known. Henna is vastly used to this day to blush hair, especially dark hair, and the color produced lasts through several shampoos. The red dye is commonly used as a sediment-only hair color whose active component, lawsone, binds to keratin and is therefore permanent. Allergy to henna is much rarer than allergy to permanent hair colors.
When you apply hair dyes some pedagogy always remember. Wear gloves when you apply the hair dye. Never dye your eyebrows or eyelashes. Do a patch test before using dye on your hair. Don’t leave the dye on longer than the directions say you should. Keep hair dyes out of the reach of children. Never mix various hair dye products. This can hurt your hair and scalp.
